HOW I FEEL ABOUT BEING AN ONLINE STUDENT (UNIT 3)

I find that being an online student is much easier then I thought it was going to be. I do miss the personal interaction of being face to face with everyone, but I also enjoy not having to be face to face. It is like the lesser of two evils I think.

The flexability that it offers is great. I like the fact that I can go into the class at anytime of he day or night to do post or assignments, and the dropbox is always open. I do find at my home that the middle of the night is the best time for me to do any type of composing. Its like my brain wakes up after midnight and runs until 6a.m. I usually never sleep at night.

When I first started the online courses I thought to myself "How is this going to work not having a live person to get help from on a daily bases." But I have found that the self-directed type of learning is like going to the adult education. You can do it at your own pace and allot of times it makes you discover just how intelligent you are, you really didn't need to have the extra help after all. I have also found that my work ends up being more detailed due to the fact that there is no one to really guide you, so how much detail do you include.

Just like they have added the blog portion of this class, I think this was a good idea because I feel that not only are we doing this for a project, I think this is helping the class to get to know each other better, and unless like this little assignment they have given us, you don't have to know any more or less about the people that are in your class then you care to know. I think the blogging was a good idea of Kaplan's. But I think it will only work for certain classes not all of them.

Another thought that did get shared as I wanted it pertains to unit 2

HELLO EVERYONE I think that I have figured out what I want to write about for the final project.I started with the idea of Lactating Mothers, mataboliam of the human body, and then my unliked ex-sister-in-law showed up at the door after not seeing her in 1-1/2 years, and I thought about Hereditary Diseases -V- Hereditary Illness. So I began my search at the Kaplan Library as instructed per Kaplan program and I ended up with the subject of "MAN'S BEST FRIEND" you guessed it the "DOG". I have heard of many experiments and test that have been done with rats, chimps, goats, cow, horses, but I havent heard of much that has been done with the dog. I think this is going to prove itself to be a very intresting learning experience. Think about it, dogs have hip dislocation, arthirits, glocoma, blood disorders, loss of hair, skin problems, and I wonder just how simalar there DNA is? Hope to hear from all soon,Sherry W. 10/25/2009

I thought this was going out to all but it didnt

I have been looking through all of the blogs and post and comments and I think that all of you have done a great job with these.Today is filled with lots of Anatomy homework for me, and it is giving me a head ache. Already in the first unit we have 3 test to take, I can see no break here. All have a good day if you read this (or night).Sherry

All This Time I THOUGHT I Knew What I Was Doing

I have been looking at everyones blog pages wondering how in the world did you guys keep adding new things to the first page and wondering why I was getting no where. So I regreat to say that I had to ask the computer child what the heck I was doing wrong. She just looked at me like I was crazy. She said "Um, Mom you have to sign in first, to post a new blog" Boy was my face red.
So now I can add a new blog for the Unit 3 when I have it read for all to read and share.

Learning Something New.........=-)

I have learned something new already and we haven't even had our first seminar. I know it may sound funny but I don't know alot about these types of things and I was surprised at how easy it was to set up.
